Osoyoos Affordable Housing Task Force (OAHTF)
The Osoyoos Affordable Housing Task Force (OAHTF) was a target stakeholder in the consultative process for preparing the Affordable Housing Strategy by a consultant service provider, and provided associated recommendations to Council on Strategy proposals. The scope of the Affordable Housing Strategy encompassed both local government promotion of near-market housing solutions for moderate-income working families (both rental and home ownership), as well as potential needs and opportunities for provincially-subsidized social housing. The Towns of Osoyoos and Oliver are collaborated on an affordable housing strategy for each client.
The Osoyoos Affordable Housing Task Force shall be appointed by resolution of Council and will comprise:
- Up to eight (8) citizen volunteers from the local community.
- One Town Councillor
- Director of Planning and Development Services.
Citizen volunteers were appointed for the length of time needed to complete the Affordable Housing Strategy, estimated as a maximum of four (4) months and served without remuneration.
